Rare appearance useful info

  • All free missions have 3 map patterns, typically each with one rare variation.
  • Unlike PSO, not every enemy can turn into a rare. So you'll want to abandon mission if you don't get a rare enemy pattern.
  • Map patterns are set. A rare enemy will always spawn in the same block on the rare enemy pattern map.
  • Sub-bosses (such as the "Orgdus" variation of Svaltus) will spawn in rare variations as well as the rare enemy (Rappy, Jaggo) of that mission.
  • There is still some uncertainty in regards to the ways rare enemies spawn (based on count).
  • The green row (Also marked as pattern X) is the map pattern with the rare enemy spawns.
  • A (*) means the enemy has the sword icon. A (*) means enemy has a shield icon.

Mission map patterns

Instructions: Take A-1 of the "Unsafe Passage" table for example, A is the Circle room route (NOT Necessarily an "A" rank run) and the 1 is the spawn set. To get to the rappy spawn, you want the X set's spawn. 1 to 3 are the spawns you don't want, these are the dud spawn sets. If you get a 1 to 3 spawn, abandon the mission. It's a lot like a slot machine, you're not going to get all 7's on your first run, so you gotta keep trying.

Notation

Example What it means
Koltova x4 Vahra x2 The Koltova and Vahra will spawn all at once.
Koltova x4 + Vahra x2 The Koltova will spawn, and Vahra will spawn when some of the Koltova are killed.
Koltova x4 → Vahra x2 The Koltova will spawn, then Vahra will spawn after all of the Koltova are killed.
Koltova x4+4 The Koltova will spawn, and more will spawn when some are killed.
! If you get to this point and see the stated spawn, the map variation is certainly rare.

In most cases, the difference is trivial.

    • the (x)-2 maps start at a different section of the map
  • A Help Tip* I have figured out that there is another route for the C runs, the first spawn is 3 pannons, then 1 pannon, then another 1 and 3 dilnazens and i dont know the other spawns but if you are trying to get to darbelans, this is NOT the right route. -- Vain Dragon

  • An actual variance in the number of reinforcement Pannons for A-1 block 3 seems unlikely... I will continue testing to make sure. I also doubt that the previously entered spawn data for C-X block 1 is correct. [Arcturus]
  • Darbelans are confirmed for this map, I've seen 4 in the C version of this run on the Xbox 360 edition. One in one room and Three in another, sorry I can't remember what the spawns were, but I can tell you what they dropped. Two dropped Olpad and one dropped Copernia. ~~[Wolf]~~

  • Distova are a leaner breed of Koltova.
  • Since the C-X2 pattern is similar to C-1, the only way to make sure the rappies are there is to run directly to the exit of the cave, this is where they always spawn for me.
