This is of a list of the characters from Story Mode, and their background.

Residents of the Guardians' Colony

Ethan Waber

A seventeen-year-old living in the Guardians' Colony. He went to see the ceremonies of the 100th anniversary of the Alliance with his sister Lumia, she was dragged into the SEED invasion. It was the first time the SEED activity had been received, so eventually he became a trainee at the interplanetary bodyguard organisation "Guardians", and ended up striving in training under the supervision of Karen.

Karen Erra

Seventeen years old. Has three years of combat experience as a Guardian, and serves as a guiding instructor for Ethan. Due to the fact her mother was murdered by primitive creatures when she was young, she cannot use Techniques at all despite being a Newman. Because of this handicap she is more cautious than needed, and lives on pushing herself to become strong...

Hyuga Ryght

A Guardian that is in the same class as Ethan at the Guardians training school. He is Ethan's rival at the Fraballu tournament, the Guardians' Colony's consolidation championship, always competing with him for the first place. A zealous devotee to the Gurhal Communion, he tends to flirt with girls saying that each encounter is star-crossed, but is a nice, honest guy at heart, and is really talented as well.

Leogini Santosa Berafort

Also known as Leo. He met Ethan when the SEED first invaded, and recommended him to join the Guardians, to grasp the opportunity to participate in the battle. He watched over the hot-tempered Ethan as a good brother. His strength and strictness match his rough outward appearance, but he thinks more about his comrades and family than others. His wife and three-year-old son are also in the Guardians' Colony.

Tonnio Rhima

He might still look like a boy by human standards, but is already an adult Guardian of 26 years old. He was raised at an orphanage, and used to be the leader of a streetgang, but rectified this when he met Leo, and joined the Guardians. But even now he cannot always control his bad behaviour from his gang times, so sometimes even Leo doesn't know what to do.

Lou

Belongs to the research division dedicated to Guardian coordiantion. She also easily handles duties similar to spying at times, due to the fact she houses special equipment in her body that regular Guardians do not have. She controls her facial expressions so as not to use them excessively. Would this be for the sake of her special duties? She provides Ethan with a variety of information whenever they meet, but what kind of secrets would she have..?

Maya Shidow

She develops the various equipment the Guardians use. She is a researcher that belongs to the Guardians equipment development division. She's on good terms with Karen, as if they were sisters. Despite her voluptous appearance she is really not very spontaneous, and sometimes the equipment she offers is defect. She favors Photon products as supreme things.

Lucaim Nav

Involved from the moment Guardians was established, he is the oldest member in service. For a start he is the headmaster of the training school, and is fully responsible for the training of all of the Guardians. As the first president, most of the Guardians were his students, and because he remembers all of their weak points, none can rival his knowledge. His merit as a Guardian was already enough, but his old body suffers from a bad illness.

Ohbel Dallgun

The 17th president of the Guardians. Strict to himself as well as to his subordinates, he displays a powerful leadership. He seems a shy and quiet guy on first sight, but according to some rumors he's the type that's really quite talkative and jokes all the time.

Pete

Its official name is 'GHX-005'. It's a Partner Machinery granted to Ethan when he graduated from the Guardians training school. Managing his schedule and providing him with information for his missions and the such, it is a reliable partner.

Lumia Waber

Ethan's younger sister. Nice towards anyone, she is a perfect sister that has a good feel to her. She's a huge fan of the Maiden of Phantasmal Vision of the Communion of Gurhal, and participates in ceremonies as her asistant. She's more lively than her brother, and at times she drags him along. She supports Ethan, who is taking up the same dangerous occupation as a Guardian as their late father, but she is also worried about him.

Dr. Kanal Tomrain

The only researcher to be called the father of A-Photon production. Currently affiliated with the Guardians, he is researching the trump card of SEED repelance.

3. ↑ ^{3.0 3.1} Hal and Karam Ryme also share a voice actor; Megumi Matsumoto.
