Story

Laia Martinez is the NPC who is effectively the main character of the Episode 2 story. Although the online player character always accompanies Laia throughout the story, the player has a relatively minor role, particularly in Episode 2, with Laia and a few other NPC's generally being the characters to react to the events of the story. Laia initially is the instructor to the player character, who has recently joined the GUARDIANS organization, and first appears upon beginning the Episode 2 story missions taken from the GUARDIANS HQ of the GUARDIANS Colony.

Laia is the adopted daughter of Obel Dallgun, although she often tries to ignore this fact, both publicly and privately. In particular, she resents any special treatment that would be afforded to the daughter of the president of the GUARDIANS, and she does not have an excellent relationship with her father, often feeling unworthy as a daughter while conversely he does not have much spare time to be a good father. She is very strict and demanding as both an instructor and a person. Additionally, she's rash and quick to anger or fight. As seen on her Partner Card given to the player after the first Episode 2 mission, she also hates scoundrels and liars.

Laia knows many of the characters from the Guardians organization encountered by Ethan Waber in Episode 1, but toward Ethan Waber himself, she initially shows an apparently irrational hatred and mistrust, a condition explained later in Episode 2. Also of notable interest is the fact that she harbors a hidden attraction for Leogini Santosa Berafort, an attraction that she typically rejects violently when derided or otherwise brought up by other characters.

Episode 1

Laia Martinez has no known involvement in the events of Episode 1.

Episode 2

Laia Martinez accompanies the player character during all of Episode 2, helping to unravel the mystery behind Ethan Waber's attempts at assassinating GUARDIANS Presdient Obel Dallgun and kidnapping the Divine Maiden.

It is discovered that Laia is the adopted daughter of President Dallgun.

Episode 3

After the GUARDIANS Colony drops near Rozenom City in Parum along with President Dallgun, Laia disappears, leaving the GUARDIANS without a leader and in shambles. Maya Shidow and Lumia Waber later find her in the ruins of Rozenom searching for her father and convince her to become the new president of the GUARDIANS.
