Box drop research

  • The purpose of this article is to collect data on items that drop from boxes both mid- and post-mission. When filling in drop data, please take care that you add items to the correct chart, row (item type) and column (mission difficulty). If you are unsure of how to do this or don't feel like messing with wiki coding, please feel free to add a comment below the table with your findings and we'll add it for you. (Be sure to state the mission difficulty so that data is added properly. Also, sign your comment by adding ~~~~ after it.)
  • We use a color-coding system to identify certain drops in these tables. Here is what each background color means:
    • White: The standard background color identifies drops that contributors have personally confirmed.
    • Blue: Drops which have been identified by outside sources (such as the JP wiki or Japanese player blogs) but have not been confirmed by a contributor will be identified by a blue background.
    • Gray: A gray background is used for drops which are assumed. For example, if the same item drops on both the lowest and highest mission difficulty, it is generally safe to assume that all intermediate difficulties will offer the same drop.

I've pulled this info from the JP wiki's chart. One thing I'm curious about is the laser cannon board drop on A. They say that it's a [B] Laser Cannon, though I can't help but think that's a mistake. Everything else seems to follow the pattern of the same difficulty dropping the board of its respective made item, so I don't see why that would be the one exception as a made Thunder Cannon drops on the same difficulty. - EspioKaos 10:21, 10 November 2008 (CST)

  • What's up with the gemstones in this mission? I see the exact same set listed for special boxes and similar items just stuffed under area drops for missions in other areas (actually in higher level drops for this area too). Are they misplaced, specifically put into all these, or is it just because there is a lot of uncertainty still in terms of what goes where? S-T-H 23:05, 10 November 2008 (CST)
    • They're part of the possible clear box drops and just happen to also have a chance of dropping from a certain set of boxes mid-mission. (Or maybe it's the other way around.) I know it's kind of odd listing them in the clear boxes, but I felt it was necessary (or at least helpful) since it would let folks hunting those particular gems know that they have a second chance of getting one if the mid-mission special boxes fail to produce, otherwise telling them not to abandon if the first option is a dud. It's not a particularly common occurrence, (for example, the gems that can appear in Lightning Beasts' special boxes have never been reported to show up in the clear boxes -- and considering how many times I ran Lightning Beasts A for Tormad, I should know), so this and a few other missions are just kind of the exception to the rule. - EspioKaos 23:34, 10 November 2008 (CST)
