PSP:Confuse
This article pertains to an item, mission or other feature available exclusively in Phantasy Star Portable. |
Description
This status effect causes the target to behave erratically.
On an enemy, Confuse allows the target to attack other nearby enemies (its "allies"). If there is only one confused enemy, it will attack the player's party as normal. (Unsure: a confused target may simply prioritize attacking the closest target, or it may actually prioritize attacking its remaining allies.)
On an NPC, Confuse seems to do very little. They still follow the party leader just fine, and they attack like usual.
On a PC, Confuse scrambles the player's movement commands so that controlled movement is nearly impossible. That is, this isn't a set permutation (so that, for example, left is right and up is down), it's dynamic (holding left will move the character one direction for a moment, then another direction the next). It is apparently impossible to attack your allies while Confused. Holding the L button to lock-on to an enemy can make it much easier to cope with Confuse.
