Beasts are one of the four playable races available in Phantasy Star Universe. A genetically engineered race, they exhibit high physical strength and endurance; meaning they are suited for physical labor. Their weaknesses are their low mental abilities and accuracy.

Visuals
Visually, Beasts appear similar to Humans and Newmen. The main points of difference are in their faces, Which appear slightly similar to that of an animal; unsurprising given their animalistic nature. Beasts have short noses with round ends, slight harelips, and (the most obvious difference) ears, which come in four styles (The styles range from slightly furry to full blown cat ears, which follow the color of their hair).
Nanoblasts
Nanoblasts come in 5 flavors - they can use yellow, blue, red, green and purple. Beasts look completely different when in this form, more feral with runes and patterns dotted about their bodies in a style similar to Native American war paintings. Beasts alone are able to use Nanoblasts. Beasts of any level or gender can stay in this form for over about 65 seconds, they will have fill their gauge to reform.
