As such, I'd like to implement an update to the sidebar; just a small one to add some of the articles to it and hopefully get some user feedback. Either way, I'd love to make some progress. Any objections? - EspioKaos 14:14, 31 December 2007 (CST)

+ | * OK, I've added a few of the articles to the sidebar. (Took a few edits since some things didn't work like I wanted, but it's there now.) I noticed that subcategories do not work like I thought. So unless there's a way around that, we'll have to nix a few things from the list. (Skills, bullets and TECHNICs under photon arts, for example. And as you can see, weapon grinding isn't sub-categorized under weapons like I wanted. Same with rare enemies under enemies. No big deal, though.) Anyway, I'd like to propose that we remove the external links from the sidebar and place them on our front page in a "useful links" section or something. I'll see if I can do a mock-up of something a little later. Alright, so... thoughts, opinions, death threats? - EspioKaos 20:59, 1 January 2008 (CST)

However, we should be able to adjust the category capitalization to make it fall within our manual of style. Anyway, I'm glad you like it. Hopefully we'll be able to get more feedback soon. If not, I'll just start taking the lack of visitor comments as a good thing and begin full implementation in the near future. - EspioKaos 15:59, 2 January 2008 (CST)

Well, I've gotten a comment on this so far. Not to sound like I'm rushing this, but I'd love to see us get a new navigation system going. Aside from us, the visitors have wanted one for a while, so I'd like to give them what they want. So, look good? Is there anything we should add or take out? - EspioKaos 21:04, 24 December 2007 (CST) | Well, I've gotten a comment on this so far. ** Yeah, I think that's a good idea. The index wouldn't really need to be on the list, of course, since the logo in the upper-left will take you back to that. The other stuff might be good to have. (I guess the weapons section is covered since all categories have the weapons table shown.) - EspioKaos 20:20, 25 December 2007 (CST) | ** Yeah, I think that's a good idea. Enemies subsection
Considering the popularity of our rare spawn chart section, I've added a subsection to the "Enemies" category in the list. Since we're working on removing the spawn charts from the massive article they're all in now and placing them in their respective mission articles, we should decided exactly what to do with the old page. I was thinking that we could use it to fully explain how to read the notation of our spawn charts, then include either a list of mission or simply a link to the mission list stating that individual charts will be found in their respective mission articles. - EspioKaos 11:21, 28 December 2007 (CST)
- The JP wiki, for anyone desiring to emulate that, has one article for all the rare charts of each planet. My preference, however, would be to have the (renamed) 'Rare enemies' article explain how mission variants work, list and link the rare enemies themselves, detail the chart notation, and link directly to the charts contained within the mission articles themselves. - Miraglyth 13:27, 28 December 2007 (CST)

- Might be forcing the issue too much, but some mission article rare spawn charts are already complete. It might be an idea to replace those entries in the Rare monsters article already, sa that'd help the transition move along as well as be an immediate cut to server load since - as Espio's noted - the page is one of the most popular on the site and is still larger than recommended - Miraglyth 18:04, 28 December 2007 (CST)

Comments, suggestions?
Well, I've gotten a comment on this so far. Not to sound like I'm rushing this, but I'd love to see us get a new navigation system going. Aside from us, the visitors have wanted one for a while, so I'd like to give them what they want. So, look good? Is there anything we should add or take out? - EspioKaos 21:04, 24 December 2007 (CST)
- It's a good list, but how do you get to other content aside from search? Maybe there needs to be an actual full contents page that's linked within this list? --JubeiSaotome 02:59, 25 December 2007 (CST)
- I was thinking that we could include subsection listings in certain main articles; that would help to display other sections without necessarily expanding the navigation list. - EspioKaos 10:25, 25 December 2007 (CST)
- I think each page should also have links to at least its parent pages so that you can click around no matter where you are. Something like:
Index | Weapons | Daggers | Deva-zashi |
at the top of each page. Au+ 10:33, 25 December 2007 (CST)
- Breadcrumbs, yeah, they should always be in a navigation. --JubeiSaotome 20:25, 25 December 2007 (CST)
