Shadow of the Arkguard is a side story which begins approximately one month after the events of Episode 1 and runs alongside Episode 2, complimenting the story by filling in details which are not divulged in-game. Unlike the other episodes of Phantasy Star Universe, Arkguard is presented as a "moving comic," a digital comic book complete with background music, sound effects and limited animation.
