Box drop research (after S3 addition)

  • The purpose of this article is to collect data on items that drop from boxes both mid- and post-mission. When filling in drop data, please take care that you add items to the correct chart, row (item type) and column (mission difficulty). If you are unsure of how to do this or don't feel like messing with wiki coding, please feel free to add a comment below the table with your findings and we'll add it for you. (Be sure to state the mission difficulty so that data is added properly. Also, sign your comment by adding ~~~~ after it.)
  • We use a color-coding system to identify certain drops in these tables. Here is what each background color means:
    • White: The standard background color identifies drops that contributors have personally confirmed.
    • Blue: Drops which have been identified by outside sources (such as the JP wiki or Japanese player blogs) but have not been confirmed by a contributor will be identified by a blue background.
    • Gray: A gray background is used for drops which are assumed. For example, if the same item drops on both the lowest and highest mission difficulty, it is generally safe to assume that all intermediate difficulties will offer the same drop.

With the S2 version of this mission, JP wiki lists Ragan Ragac as a clear box drop along with Double Agito. I'm not sure if this is true or just a mistake. - EspioKaos 14:50, 5 November 2008 (CST)

  • That also happens to be a Shagreece drop. There can be confusion all the time. S-T-H 05:32, 11 November 2008 (CST)
  • Bit of an odd mistake to make though, Shagreece do not even appear in the last block of Lightning Beasts as far as I'm aware. - Mewn 06:15, 11 November 2008 (CST)
  • I agree. There's also the possibility of drop changes. Maybe they decided to do a little bit more with them than just the Grass Assassins. S-T-H 07:01, 11 November 2008 (CST)
  • Being that all the weapons and boards match up in this particular graph, I have pretty much no doubt that Ragan Ragac is a mistake. I'm going to take it out for now to be safe. It it comes up later, we can add it in again. S-T-H 01:53, 29 November 2008 (CST)

Rare spawn discussion #2

"I can confirm that Distova x4+3→3 at block 4 will spawn Rappies. Got it three times tonight, all with Amures." -- EspioKaos (from edit comment).

  • That's not to do with the Rappy spawn. It's a mission difficulty difference, as far as I can see. C difficulty has 4+3→3, S difficulty has 6+1→3. Notably in the earlier discussion ("On Rare Spawns", below) I claimed that JP's spawns were completely wrong. Turns out they weren't - they'd used C difficulty, I'd used S. Lightning Beasts (and Scarred Planet) probably needs multiple spawn charts given it's one of the very few missions to have the rare-determinant spawns differ on difficulty. - Miraglyth 05:32, 26 February 2008 (CST)

On Rare Spawns

  • First of all, who changed the headers back to "initial spawn"? In the case of this mission especially, it's a bad move.
  • This mission shares many of the same blocks between variations. Here's the Google translations of each from the JP wiki:
Pattern A B1: down the stairs to the left of the fence
B2: the front door lock
B3: right in front of the room oblong
Pattern B B1: down the stairs to the left of the fence
B2: the front door lock
B3: the right to lock the door
Pattern C B1: down the stairs in front of the stairs
B2: right in front of the room oblong
B3: the right to lock the door
  • The "Go Bajilla x3+2 + Distova x3 → Go Bajilla x3 → Go Bajilla x3 + Distova x2" spawn listed for many B1 starts (Patterns A and B) is not just the first room. Each → means a move to the next room. This seems a lot of clutter just to say that B-1 is not rare as of the third room.
  • I'm not sure I believe the block 4 (-3 and -X) initial spawn in the slightest. 4+3+3 Distova seems completely wrong. More like 6-1 from what I can see.

All of the above: - Miraglyth 01:17, 15 December 2007 (CST)

  • Oh yeah: One of the Pattern A spawns - does it matter which - has "Distova x3 → Shagreece x1" as the third spawn of B1 (after the typical Go Bajilla x3+2 + Distova x3 and Go Bajilla x3 spawns of the first two rooms). - Miraglyth 01:20, 15 December 2007 (CST)
  • Wait, is there a standard on capitalisation for compass directions and the words "pattern" and "block"? Not really opposing this, but somewhat confused. - Miraglyth 17:48, 15 December 2007 (CST)
    • I had to double check the compass directions thing to verify, but according to this, they are only capitalized when used in proper place names, just as North Dakota. On pattern and block, they aren't really proper nouns to begin with (and in the case of block, not even the game considers them proper when referenced in story mission dialog). I guess it's just a matter of preference, but personally, I don't see any reason for them to be capitalized. Which reminds me... there's a recent article I'd like to fix that uses a lot of unnecessary capitalization on things like character and partner. I'll track it down later. For now, I'm going to play some PSU since I haven't really gotten to sit down and play since the update. XD - EspioKaos 18:34, 15 December 2007 (CST)
      • Alright. Either way, it brings attention to this as something we'd need to hammer out when discussing a standardised enemy spawn chart table for these mission articles. - Miraglyth 18:51, 15 December 2007 (CST)
